Standard 2: Continuing Education
The applicant must have documented at least 30 hours of intermediate or advanced continuing education or professional development within the immediate past three years of combined post-certificate continuing education in the following domains: Linguistics, Deaf Culture/History, Bilingualism and Multilingualism, Child Development, Language Acquisition, Disability and Diversity, and/or Cultural Awareness and Competency. Individuals must document education in at least 5 of the 7 domains and make a note as to how they will seek education in the lacking domains within the 3 years before their re-certification.
Individuals may acquire continuing education to apply for or maintain their certification from any of the following organizations (please note that this is not an exhaustive list):
