Board Composition

The board will consist of 4-6 members at any one time, with at least half of the board members self-identifying as deaf or hard of hearing. The ABDHHS believes it is vital to have representation of individuals with the lived experiences of the population the specialists serve. The term for each board member will be 4 years and appointees can reapply to be on the board up to two additional times after having served. Board members may apply through self-nomination. Applicants must provide a CV and answer application questions. Applicants must have either applied for and successfully achieved DHHS board certification prior to applying to serve on the board, or be a Deaf or hard of hearing professional or community member. Applicants must also demonstrate strong leadership experience.
